The City of San José is recruiting for two temporary Network Technician positions to focus on the City’s drive to digital objectives, specifically the resumption of onsite work after the year-long remote work restrictions due to the pandemic. The City requires expertise in the area of hybrid work environments and experience. The incumbent’s primary responsibilities will be to perform assessments, propose designs, and to implement and support city conference rooms setup for hybrid work readiness including Audio Visual (A/V) equipment and network accessibility. Additionally, the Network Technician's role is to proactively and efficiently support the enterprise client environment, which includes the latest Windows Operating Systems (Windows 7 and Windows 10), Office 365 suite, Mobile Devices, and other enterprise software. Primary duties of this individual include day-to day system administration for the desktop hardware and software, Office 365, and mobile devices, as well as resolving end-user help requests.

This position is a temporary, benefitted position, with a standard 40 hours per week with an end date of June 30, 2022.

The selection process will consist of an evaluation of the applicant's training and experience based on the application and responses to the Job Specific Questions. Depending on their qualification, the successful candidate will be hired as a Network Technician I, Network Technician II, or Network Technician III.
