Collection Systems Worker I

The Wastewater Division is looking for an individual desiring to start a career in the public sector as a Collection System Worker.  The ideal candidate is someone with wastewater collection system experience or certification, general construction and traffic control knowledge, and the ability to obtain a Class A license.  This candidate must possesses a positive attitude, be willing to learn, have the ability to communicate clearly, and fit into a team environment, which is key to the Division’s success.

Education and Experience Guidelines - Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:
 
Education/Training:

• Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade.

• One year of general maintenance and construction experience.

• Possession of a valid Class C driver's license and ability to obtain a Class A driver's license within 18 months.
• Possession of a CWEA certification as a Grade I Collection System Worker within 18 months of appointment.

2. Written Exam -  Applicants possessing these requirements will be invited to take the written test.  The examination will cover elements of the knowledge and abilities identified in the job description and is tentatively scheduled for the week of February 8, 2021.
